HELP AMERICA HEAR – ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Gahanna, OH, November 2009 – Absolute Hearing Solutions fit James Sheets, 82, with hearing instruments at no cost as part of the Help America Hear Program.  Mr. Sheets, a resident of Newark, came into Absolute Hearing Solutions because of hearing concerns but had limited financial resources to purchase the hearing devices he needed.

Whether financially able or not, people dealing with hearing loss and its emotional and physical effects, require the proper device to fit their unique needs. Greg Van Horssen of Absolute Hearing Solutions understands the importance of better hearing. Therefore, when the opportunity to support a program focused on those who need help hearing came about, Greg and his staff members were eager to join in. Mr. Sheets was given a hearing screening and was fit with the appropriate hearing instruments. Greg states, "It felt good to know that I was making someone’s life better. The Help America Hear Program is a worthwhile cause that other practitioners will find equally as rewarding.”

Mr. Sheets is married with 6 step children and 20 step grandchildren, making the ability to hear well very important for family gatherings and conversations. With his new hearing aids, Mr. Sheets said he is able to hear much clearer and was extremely satisfied with the Help America Hear Program and Absolute Hearing Solutions.

The Help America Hear Program, created in 2008 by EarQ Group in partnership with the Foundation for Sight & Sound, was developed to provide hearing aids to individuals across the nation with limited financial resources.
