Often, the after-effects of late nights spent at concerts or clubs are treated with a morning cup of coffee. Loud music, fireworks, and even air travel can temporarily exhaust the tiny hairs in our inner ear that translate sound. Caffeine can cause these effects to linger or even become permanent. This can be prevented by switching to decaf the morning after noisy nights, if you are experiencing any loss of hearing or tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Limiting your exposure to loud sounds by using foam earplugs or noise-reducing headphones can prevent the symptoms from occurring at all.
