Best Practices For Cleaning Hearing Aids

   The inside of your ear canal contains earwax and moisture, which affects the performance of your hearing aids. Make it a habit to clean your hearing aids at the end of each day, much like brushing your teeth. This gives them plenty of time to dry out before morning. Start by washing your hands. Wipe the entire device with an alcohol-free wet wipe or hearing aid cleaning solution. You’ll need cleaning tools like a soft brush, wax pick, wax filters, or an all-in-one hearing aid multi-tool. Focus on cleaning all openings in the device, including the microphone. Hold the device upside down so debris falls out, using the brush first and then the wax pick to clear clogged holes. 

 Always remember to remove your hearing aid’s batteries before cleaning the instrument. It’s also a good idea to work over a soft surface to prevent losing or breaking parts or pieces that might fall.
