 There are many benefits to completely-in-canal (CIC) hearing aids, the most obvious being that they are among the least visible of all hearing aid options. Having the device’s speaker placed inside the ear canal also preserves the acoustics that help a wearer determine which direction sounds are coming from, while providing excellent sound quality. There are, however, a few drawbacks to CICs. Their position inside the ear canal does limit their effectiveness in hearing background noises clearly, and they do not fit comfortably in all ear types. Their size can also be a problem for people with manual dexterity issues which can make them more likely to become loose when talking or chewing and, in general,  easier to lose.
